Privacy Policy
Plain language, no legal fog. This policy describes TattooGen as it works today.
Last updated: October 28, 2026.
The Short Version
- The try on, stencil and cost tools run in your browser. Photos you load into them are not uploaded to our servers.
- When you generate a design, your text prompt is sent to our image generation provider so it can create the design. Do not put personal information in prompts.
- We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
- Accounts are optional. If you create one, we hold your name, email and a scrambled password, plus your saved designs and token balance. Payments are not open yet, so we hold no payment details.
What We Collect
Server logs. Like almost every website, our server records basic request logs (page requested, time, browser type, approximate location from IP address). We use these to keep the site running, understand which pages are useful, and protect against abuse.
Generation prompts. When you use the generator, the prompt text and the settings you choose (style, placement, color mode) are processed to create your designs. Prompts pass through our server to the image generation provider and back. Treat prompts as public text: never include names, addresses or anything private in them.
Payments. Paid plans open with the public launch and will be processed by Stripe. When that happens, payment details will go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers, and this policy will be updated before launch.
What Runs Only on Your Device
The Virtual Try-On, Stencil Maker and the other browser tools process your photos locally in your browser. Your images are not uploaded, stored or shared by these tools. If you export a preview or stencil, the file is created on your device and goes wherever you choose to send it.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies and local storage needed for the site itself to function, such as a session cookie (tg_session) that keeps you signed in, and remembering tool settings during your visit. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. See the Cookie Policy for detail.
Third-Party Services
Design generation is performed by an external AI image provider acting on our behalf. Their handling of prompt text is governed by their own terms. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when a page loads, as with most websites.
Your Choices
- You can use every browsing and browser-based tool feature without giving us any personal information.
- You can clear site data and cookies at any time in your browser settings.
- You can delete your account from your dashboard at any time. Deletion removes your profile, saved designs and sign-in sessions. The last admin must promote another admin before deleting their own account.
Changes to This Policy
If the way TattooGen handles data changes, especially when payments launch, we will update this page and note the date of the change here. This version applies to the live site.
